Researchers say Western Australian farms may be able to survive as financially sound businesses despite the challenge of climate change, however a minority will risk going bankrupt if warming and drying trends continue.
Recently published research from the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility assessed the financial performance of 249 farm businesses in south-western Australia over10 years from 2002 to 2011. This was a period of warming, accompanied with volatile prices and marked variability in seasons.
