Thank you for joining us to celebrate and encourage the future of farming in Canada
through farm transition planning!
This year’s Farm Transition Appreciation Day (FTADay) took place on January 9, 2025. FTADay 2026 is set to take place on January 8, 2026.
FTADay was created to encourage and celebrate the progress Canada’s farmers are making to secure the future of farming in Canada. It is a groundswell movement to motivate farmers to start, restart and keep going with farm transition planning by sharing inspirational stories shared on social media, agricultural media and learning events.
The New Year is the perfect time to celebrate our successes and take action to keep farms healthy for generations to come.
This Year’s theme is ‘Legacy in Motion,’ celebrating the dynamic role of farmers in building a sustainable and thriving future for Canadian agriculture, rooted in tradition and driven by innovation.
What can you do to support FTADay?
Please include this day in your planning.
Farmers, industry organizations and agribusinesses across the country are encouraged to:
- Highlight FTADay in your newsletters – “We’re getting ready to celebrate Farm Transition Appreciation Day, are you?”
- Share your farm transition success stories, tips, resources and tools through your websites, social media, industry publications and other communication channels
- Help amplify these stories and how families are transferring their farms to the next generation – strategically building, planning and supporting each other through change.
- Host virtual or in-person events for your members, clients and stakeholder community
- Use #FTADay2026 on and around FTADay to be part of the conversation!
Stay tuned for an announcement for the theme for #FTADay2026!
Our thanks to everyone who helped promote and support #FTADay2025!
