Seeking Nominations to the Board of Directors

Notice is hereby given that nominations to the Farm Management Canada Board of Directors are officially open. Members in good standing, motivated to contribute to the governance of Canada’s only national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting farm business management best practices, are invited to stand for election to the Board of Directors.
Farm Management Canada is seeking nominees to fulfill two (2) positions on the Board of Directors.

Nominees can be from any of the following member categories:

  • Farmer (including Young Farmer)
  • Member at Large
  • Association/Organization
  • Academic Institution
  • Corporate

The Board of Directors is seeking nominees who reflect the rich diversity of perspectives and experiences within the agricultural community and who represent the broad spectrum of backgrounds, cultures, identities, and regions to ensure an inclusive and representative governing Board.

The Board is also seeking nominees with demonstrated experience and proficiency in at least one of the following areas:

  • Sustainability in the Agricultural Sector (balancing Environment, Social, and Economic aspects)
  • Using Technology to Leverage Farm Business Management
  • Non-Profit Growth and Development
  • Government Relations

All eligible candidates are asked to submit a biography outlining the experience, qualifications, perspectives and value they will bring to the Board of Directors (maximum 250 words) and are asked to submit an electronic photograph of themselves (.jpg or .png) with their nomination form.

Directors will be expected to serve a full three-year term and are permitted to serve a maximum of three consecutive terms. Those who are nominating or have been nominated should keep the 3-year term in mind when letting their name stand for election. Nominees are encouraged to closely review the accompanying documents to gain an overview of the roles and responsibilities of Directors.

Nominations will close at 17:00 hrs. Eastern Time, Thursday June 6, 2024.
After this time, no further nominations will be accepted.
